Transoms Direct Delivery Times & Return/Replacement Policy

We strive to meet delivery times and deliver accurate orders for every customer!

We consider delivery time to be the time between when you place a paid order and the day of delivery.  At Transoms Direct there are two components to delivery time:

Delivery Time = Production Time + Transportation Time

Production Time

Production times are automatically calculated by our system to produce an expected ship date on all product ordering pages.  This expected ship date is not generic.  The system considers actual production time for the model you choose as well as availability of materials, weekends, holidays and temporary production delays.  You can consider the time generated by our system to be very accurate.

Note that interior models will generally ship faster than exterior models.  We stock all interior glass, but exterior glass panels are made by a third-party supplier.  Current lead times for exterior glass and our supplier's specific order cutoff times are expressed in the expected ship date you see.

Once you purchase your transom, you will receive an order confirmation via email and "production time" begins.  

Transportation Time

United States Deliveries

We ship all United States orders UPS Ground from near Raleigh, NC ZIP code 27526. 

On the cart page and checkout page you will be offered the opportunity to enter your state and zip code for a real-time, estimated "Days in Transit" that represents the transportation time for your order.

The UPS map below shows a rough estimate of transit time for USA destinations. The transit times below are subject to change without notice -- so please consult real-time estimates when ordering.


United States Pickup

If you are near Raleigh, NC, you will be offered the option pick up your order at our manufacturing facility during checkout.  Once you are notified that the order is ready via email or phone, you can schedule a pickup time at our facility located at:

Canadian Deliveries

We ship nearly all Canadian deliveries via UPS or Fedex Ground. Plan on 2.5 to 3 weeks transit time after production. Signature will always be required since this is an international order.

Replacement/Return Policy

We have worked hard to provide comprehensive measurement and planning instructions and videos in the "Plan" section of our website. Ultimately, you are purchasing a build-to-order product based on measurements specific to your installation.

We package our windows very carefully, and you should expect that the window(s) will arrive at your location in excellent, new condition, sanded and ready for paint.  If the packaging is damaged or you hear broken glass in the package, please do refuse delivery and have the package returned to us.  Otherwise, if you discover that the window is arrives damaged or defective in any way, we will of course repair or replace the window promptly at no charge to you (including shipping). We cannot be be held responsible for damage during installation.

If the transom is not damaged and delivered exactly as ordered, as a policy we do not offer returns for built-to-order items since we do not stock items at all.  In reality, if you find that you have ordered the wrong size or if you are have an unforeseen installation issue, please call us.  No guarantees, but we try to be as accommodating as we can.
